I have to admit that i have been so engaged in treating face skin, but (sort of) forgotten to treat my body skin, which is pretty much equal as important, i would not favor one to another anymore.
So as The Body Shop launches the 'Almond Milk and Honey' range, i was pretty much awakened of how less i treat my body skin. So, yes, i am looking forward to review this range. Are you?
The range consists of seven items, from bath milk to body scrub and hand cream. This range cares not only for your skin, but also the world we live in.
They use Community Trade Almond Oil from Spain, and Honey from Ethiopia. Well, fantastic ingredients and brilliant ethos.
The 'Almond Milk and Honey' range emphasizes treating sensitive skin, which sometimes some people have no idea they have. If your skin reacts in a negative way to ingredients that are not harmful to normal skin, your skin is then considered pretty sensitive.
With sensitive skin in mind, The Body Shop opted for hypoallergenic fragrance and omitted colorants. They also avoided the usage of Silicone, mineral oil, and petrolatum, which are not inherently bad for skin, but can trigger negative reaction for sensitive skin.
The range itself has a very sweet and subtle scent with glorious hints of almond and honey. They can be very useful for winter or dry season, due to the moisturizing effect they are armed with. Now, let's go in details, shall we?
1. The Body Shop Almond Milk and Honey Soothing & Caring Shower Cream - IDR 99.000
It does exactly what it claims. It soothes and cares. It matches skin PH so it does not easily strip your skin dry. This is also soap-free; and it fluffs into creamy and rich lather. It also leaves my skin squeaky clean and soft at the same time. The smell is fresh and clean.
2. The Body Shop Almond Milk and Honey Gently Exfoliating Cream Scrub - IDR 299.000
The cream scrub is infused with real crushed almond shells. It buffs away dead skin cells, leaving skin feeling smooth and soft. It is fairly not an easy job for people with sensitive skin to do exfoliating, then this cream scrub comes to the rescue. The texture is very creamy, making it even easier to do gentle exfoliation.
3. The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Calming & Protecting Body Lotion - IDR 179.000
The body lotion, as usual, is much more light-weight to the skin than the body butter. It claims to be able to protect the skin for 48 hours, and it sort of works. I mean, there is no way that we can exactly prove this, but it stays there for such a long time compared to other body lotions, as for now.
It promises to sink into the top layer of your skin in no time and preserve the skin from there. It blends real easily within seconds. The texture is silky smooth, leaving no stickiness, only baby soft skin. As a major hint: do use this when your skin feels itchy and tight. Helps every time!
4. The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Calming & Protecting Hand Cream - IDR 79.000
Again, as the claim says; calming and protecting. I do not know if it is the smell or the texture or the formula, or maybe a combination of all, but it does give me a calming feeling. The fact that this hand-cream is purse-sized is making it very travel-friendly for me. I feel that this hand-cream is slightly richer than other hand-creams that i tried before up until now, perhaps because of the extra moisture and sensitive skin target it has. I would recommend you to apply this on your hands on winter days, under your gloves, because it definitely helps. A lot.
This range is actually con-free to me. But if i have to point out something as something that you have to keep in mind before buying, is simply that all of the products included in this range have exactly the same scent, but if you are a fan of repetitive scents, this should be no problem at all.
And also, here is a little inspirational idea on how to upcycle your body butter containers. Pop them into some artsy-looking rack-container, and you are already helping to save the world :) So yes as a final verdict, i dearly love this range and i am honestly a fan of the scent it comes with. Well, who cannot be happier when the best performance quality comes with the best scent?
